About

Hi, I’m Oli Buckingham

I’m a student living in the UK. Like all my fellow students, Covid-19 brought rather an abrupt end to our studies. And so with far too much time on my hands, and in an attempt to do something productive, I have set up a blog. Primarily, it covers interesting books (both fiction and non-fiction), and I hope to occasionally turn out a piece or two on current affairs.

With regards to the books: To be clear, I’m not discussing new releases, but trying to provide my view/some interesting background on some literary classics as well as some lesser known works. The hope is that you read an article and come away with more knowledge than when you started it.

In the meantime, I hope the stuff on here is entertaining/thought provoking/even fascinating. And if it’s not, well, never mind.

Current favourite…

Film – The Last of the Mohicans by Michael Mann

Film Score – Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves by Michael Kamen

Song – Hurricane – Bob Dylan

Band – Dire Straits

Podcast – Blocked and Reported with Katie Herzog and Jessie Singal

Author – Martin Amis

TV Show – The West Wing

Poet – Banjo Paterson
